We will respond to initial enquiries about adoption immediately or at the latest within 2 working days of the enquiry being received. This will include us providing information, counselling and advice.
If you would like written information we will send it to you within 2 working days of you enquiry.
If you are potentially suitable to adopt you will be invited to an Adoption Preparation Day within 2 months of your initial enquiry.
When the Agency has accepted a formal application from you, we will aim to provide adoption training and complete your Home Study Assessment of your suitability to adopt within 8 months of you making an initial enquiry.
Your completed Home Study Assessment will be presented to the Adoption Panel and Agency Decision Maker as soon as possible. The Agency Decision Maker will determine your suitability/non suitability to adopt.
Whilst we aim to complete your approval as an adopter within 8 months following your initial enquiry this may not be possible if there are perhaps legal or medical issues to be explored with you.
