Birth records
If you were directly placed for adoption by us, you can find out more about your birth records
Yorkshire Adoption Agency provides support to adoptees who were directly placed for adoption by the Agency, to access their birth records.
We know that when reaching adulthood, many adoptees want to have information about their birth records and the reasons behind their adoption. If you were placed for adoption by Yorkshire Adoption Agency, you can access your adoption records by contacting us.
We will make an appointment for you to see an adoption advisor and support you to go through the information.
The amount of information we hold in these records can vary from a single sheet to a few pages, however we still hold records from our inception in 1946.
Yorkshire Adoption Agency has been previously known as;
- Doncaster Adoption Society
- Doncaster Moral Welfare Society
- Doncaster Adoption Family Welfare Society
If you would like to access an intermediary service for tracing family members, please contact PAC-UK or your own local authority.
