Can I adopt internationally?

Yorkshire Adoption Agency is looking for people who could make a positive difference to a child or children, who are in need of a safe loving family home.

We welcome enquiries from potential adopters regardless of your gender, relationship status, age, sexuality, disability, ethnicity, religion, or if you already have birth children.

You are only eligible to become adopters if you meet, or would meet, the eligibility criteria to apply for an Adoption Order. The criteria is:

• you are at least 21 years old.
• you have lived in a part of the British Isles for at least one year and have leave to remain and
• neither prospective adopter(s), nor an adult member of their household, has been convicted or cautioned in respect of a specified offence.

You must first follow the procedures to become an approved adopter in the UK before attempting to complete the process in the country you wish to adopt a child from.
