Adoption is for life, so our support is as well.
We pride ourselves on our genuine offer of life long support for all our families. Many families choose to undertake their adoption journey with us for this reason, as they know they can lean on us now and in the future.
We know that support during anyone’s adoption journey is vitally important, from the first email to years down the line. We offer intensive support throughout the early stages of your adoption journey and continue to offer support for as long as you need us.
When a child joins your family, we regularly check in with you whilst you are getting used to being a family and complete regular home visits to offer any support you need. We support you in attending any meetings for your child and any other issues up until an adoption order is granted.
We pride ourselves that as an agency, we keep in touch with adopters for the first year, as a minimum, after an adoption order has been granted. We recognise that families do not need social workers in their life forever, so after the first year following you getting an adoption order, we will step back but are always only a phone call or email away.
We know each family is different and can offer a varity of support from a quick phone call or email to an assessment of your post adoption support needs. We will also with local authorities to make an application to the Adoption Support Fund, should you or your child/ren need it.
Our staff work hard to keep their skills and knowledge up to date to give you the full support and advice you need. We have some staff members who have been trained in a range of subjects, such as therapeutic life story work. Many are level 1 trained Theraplay® practitioners. Throughout all our training, assessment, matching and home visits, we help you to develop a therapeutic approach to parenting. We encourage solution focus and strength-based views throughout your adoption journey.
