Yorkshire Adoption Agency have been an extension of our family from day one –  providing us with support, training and guidance throughout our adoption journey.

They made our steps to motherhood one of fullness and enjoyment when so much of it can be uncertain and unknown.

We truly feel grateful for everything that YAA has done for us and now, as a family off three with our little girl, we know that YAA will forever be a part of our lives and story. We couldn’t have wished for a better agency supporting our LGBTQ+ family.

As LGBTQ+ prospective parents and as people with our own lived experiences, we don’t always find it easy to trust.

But we were lucky to be matched with social workers who were experienced, skilled, and genuinely supportive.

Their approach made all the difference, and we are incredibly grateful. The training we received was also excellent informative, compassionate, and grounded in real-world understanding.

We also know that adoption is not a destination it’s a lifelong journey.

As a gay man, I never imagined I’d be a parent.

Adopting was the best decision we ever made. It’s not always easy, but the rewards far outweigh the challenges.
