At Yorkshire Adoption Agency, every campaign we deliver is rooted in one simple belief: every child deserves a safe, loving and supportive family.
That’s why we were incredibly proud to be named finalists in the Campaign of the Year category at the Doncaster Business Awards for our 2025 Adopt With Pride campaign.
While being recognised alongside so many outstanding local organisations is a wonderful achievement, what makes us most proud is what the campaign represented and the conversations it helped to start.
More than a campaign
Adopt With Pride was never just about attending a community event or running a marketing campaign.
It was about visibility, representation and ensuring that people from the LGBTQ+ community could see themselves reflected in adoption.
As an agency, we know that prospective adopters need to feel welcomed, valued and understood. We also understand that many people still believe adoption is not an option for them, or that adoptive families look a certain way.
Through Adopt With Pride, we wanted to challenge those assumptions and celebrate the many different ways families are formed.

Turning Values Into Action
Inclusivity has been part of YAA’s culture for many years. The campaign provided an opportunity to bring those values to life in a visible and meaningful way.
Throughout August 2025, we shared real stories from LGBTQ+ adopters, celebrated diverse families, connected with local communities and celebrated our roots by taking part in Doncaster Pride.
Rather than simply talking about inclusion, we showed up in spaces where people already felt welcomed and represented.
The campaign was built around three key messages:
- Adoption is for everyone.
- LGBTQ+ people can make exceptional adoptive parents.
- Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a loving family.
These messages continue to guide our work today.
The power of allyship
One of the most important reflections from the campaign has been the role allyship plays in creating inclusive communities.
At YAA, allyship means more than celebrating Pride. It means creating a safe enough space where people feel respected, valued and supported throughout their adoption journey.
It means listening to lived experiences, championing diverse voices and ensuring that everyone who enquires with us feels confident that they will be welcomed for who they are.
The success of Adopt With Pride was made possible by our staff, trustees, adopters, partners and supporters who all helped communicate that message.
Looking Ahead to LGBT+ Parents and Carers Day
As we approach LGBT+ Parents and Carers Day on 19 September, this recognition feels particularly meaningful.
The day is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible contribution LGBT+ parents and carers make to children’s lives every day. It is also a reminder that families come in many different forms, united by love, stability and commitment.
We are privileged to work alongside LGBTQ+ adopters who provide nurturing homes, advocate for their children and help build strong, resilient families.
Their experiences, stories and support continue to shape our work and inspire others to consider adoption.

Thank you
We would like to thank everyone who supports Adopt With Pride, from those who shared their stories and volunteered their time, to the families and community organisations who helped spread our message.
Being named a finalist is a moment we are incredibly proud of, but the real success of the campaign lies in its lasting impact.
Every conversation started, every enquiry received and every person who felt represented by our message brings us one step closer to finding more loving families for children who need them most.
And that’s something worth celebrating every day.
